Ingredients

6–8 slices old bread

3/4 cup sugar

4 eggs

2 cups milk

1 tsp vanilla

1/2 stick butter or margarine

1/2 cup raisins

3/4 tsp cinnamon

Preparation

1) Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray a 9x12 cake pan with nonstick spray.

2) Tear bread into small pieces and spread evenly in pan. Blend in raisins and drizzle melted butter over bread.

3) In a medium bowl, beat eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon until blended.

4) Pour mixture over bread and raisins. Gently press bread into liquid with a fork to moisten.

5) Bake until puffed, golden brown, and center springs back when pressed.

6) Let cool (will sink as it cools). Serve warm with caramel sauce and whipped cream.
