About the Recipe

Ingredients

1 cup shortening; 1½ cups sugar; 2 eggs; 2¾ cups flour; 2 tsp cream of tartar; 1 tsp baking soda; ½ tsp salt

Preparation

  1. Cream together shortening, sugar, and eggs.

  2. Sift together flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt.

  3. Combine wet and dry ingredients.

  4. Chill dough.

  5. Roll into balls and dip into a mixture of sugar and cinnamon.

  6. Bake at 350°F for 8–10 minutes.
