Ingredients
2 pounds ground beef; 1/2 pound ground pork; 2 cups cooked rice; 1/4 cup diced celery (small); 1/4 cup diced onions (small); 1 large can tomato sauce; 1/2 tsp garlic powder; 1 tbsp sugar; 1 large cabbage; 2 eggs
Preparation
Mix all ingredients (except cabbage) together with 1/4 can of tomato sauce.
Refrigerate.
Boil cabbage until leaves soften (about 8 minutes).
Remove leaves in batches and trim core.
Place 1/3 cup filling in each leaf, fold, and roll into oval-shaped rolls.
Repeat until about 12 rolls are made.
Line baking pan with smaller cabbage leaves, place rolls on top, cover with remaining tomato sauce, then add equal amount of water.
Cover with foil and bake at 350°F for 1 1/2 hours.
Serve with pan juices.
